World Cup

I know this is not going to make me very popular but... I don't really care about football*. So why on earth am I writing about it??? Because it is being imposed on me. You simply cannot live in a country participating in the world cup without suffering from its devastating side-effects: loud middle of the night horning and shouting for instance...
However, there is a fun counterpart to this, which is that even when you don't actually watch a game that involves the team of the country you live in, you can play a parallel game. It's the hear and guess game :p
Now the idea is to listen carefully to the shouting outside and guess when what is happening. Like: people bellowing and loud shrieks bursting means a goal for France (in my case), whereas a long period of silence means the other side scored. Now those are the easy ones. Then you get to guess when an attack is on (excited noises) or when they came very close to scoring (short period of bellowing and shrill shouts). It's all very scientific of course...
As far as the final result goes, if you haven't manage to count all the goals during the game, just listen out after 11pm and if it's silent, France lost, if it's BURSTING WITH BLOODY NOISE, France won. And in that case you can even know the score because they yell it our uncontrollably. Like the famous 3-0 against Brasil 8 years ago which is still ringing in my ears... I hope it doesn't come to that tonight, it's already 1-0 for France according to my super detectives - my ears - and if the French go on scoring they'll just burst with pride very soon...
Seriously, who needs TV??

*soccer of course...

Comments:
As disappointed as I was to tee France beat Australia, I was delighted to see them beat Brazil. Yeah France... now be good, and get kicked out, don't want you to win :P.

Bravo ! Encore une adepte du foot malgré elle ! J'y viens aussi, figure toi, grâce à mon homme ! Vive les bleus !

Bisous choupette
ps : note bien, mon premier commentaire sur ton blog ! un évènement à marquer d'une bière blanche comme dirait l'autre !
