3am... why?

It snowed last night and now the whole campus is covered in beautiful snow. Actually snow, not frozen rain that feels weird under foot :)
The campus usually gets all prepped up as soon as there is a sign of snow and hurries up warning everyone if it's going to stay open or not. Sometimes it closes if there is too much snow around and people can't access buildings that kind of thing. Apparently though they are paranoid that the school should close because they started pelleting and putting salt down at 3AM!! How on earth did they find the workers to do that? They started working on it as soon as the snow stopped falling I guess, does it mean they have a team on call that they wake up in case of emergency snow? And how could they know it wouldn't snow over their work? It baffles me.
What's worse though is that sleep is hard to get by when there is someone violently shoving snow around just outside your window, followed by a little (noisy) machine that's sort of like a vacuum cleaner for snow, the whole thing underscored by the beepbeep annoying noise of a truck backing... gah tired sleep.

Comments:
I think you should write a letter to the college--probably to Michael Rengers, because I believe this is his department (but you might want to double-check).
