Rehearsal in the park
I am back after weeks of silence... I've been exceedingly busy and therefore not posting much. And not keeping in touch much either :s However here's a cool afternoon we spent on Monday: The members of my new association, Hark who's talking!, met in the Luxembourg gardens to rehearse this Monday because our usual place was closed. The parc was very busy but we managed to find a little spot between 4 trees that made up a square, and the stage (kind of like in Midsummer I guess :p). We first ran the play to get back into things after the 3 weeks of no rehearsals we'd had, hardly hearing each other because of all the people, and the wind. Then Régis arrived - our special guest visiting from China - and after a few pointers to one another about the run we did the show again, for him more or less. Except as the aternoon wore off and the park lost a bit of its traffic, noise and wind, we became more audible and it was clear for anyone around that we were doing a play. People started congregating around our improvised stage and we gathered a little audience! We even got applause at the end :D Some of the audience stayed behind after the show and gave us emails so we could tell them when and where we'd be performing and one even asked for contacts because he will soon be looking for people to act in short films! So all in all a very pleasant experience: the cast did extra well, presumably thanks to the fact that they had an audience, rehearsing outdoors was brilliant, we got applause and people thought we were professional (or studying acting) and then we all went to the restaurant and drinks together with Régis. I had a very pleasant time and the rehearsal was very beneficial as quite a few new things happened that we'll try and keep. So yeay for rehearsals in the park :)
