PACS!
David and I have won a fight against the French administration: we successfully deposited our PACS dossier at the town hall! They tried to tell us we were missing papers but naha, we had everything nice and pretty there and we got an appointment: we're getting PACSed on the 2nd of September. We will accept donations to our family cause via paypal. Just kidding :p
Just before that, I had a first at the American embassy: I walked right in front of all the non-American citizens who queue for ages outside. MWAHAHA. Ok so I was ever so slightly helped by David and being with him but it was still fun :)
So interesting point I found out while getting the papers for the PACS. The French are slow, complicated but free. The Americans are quick, simple and even agreeable but quite expensive! So yeah we bitch (me first, me first!) about how crappy the French admin can get but it is all free! For instance, the birth certificate cost me zero, and David had to pay around 40 dollars. Plus the embassy issued him with a certificate to vouch that he was a bachelor and another for the PACS, total for both: 50 dollars. Whereas the French issued him a "certificat de non-PACS", which is basically the same thing, for free. But the first took an hour at most (and we got congratulated by a very nice official at the embassy) whereas the second took a couple of weeks.
Voilà, we won a ticket to the PACS!

Que te dire ? Que je dois me bouger le cul pour venir lire tes petits papiers sur le net pour avoir de tes news ? Bon, comme ce sont de bonnes nouvelles, je vais me contenter de te féliciter, au lieu de râler, et j'espère qu'on se verra bientôt pour que je puisse m'épancher un peu à propos de mes malheurs d'instit de CP...
